Indeed, it is hard to imagine that our health depends on billions of microorganisms. Probiotics are amongst them, the microorganisms that inhabit our intestinal system and take care of the internal microbial balance of the gastrointestinal tract. One of the biggest enemies of beneficial bacteria is the modern way of life. Stress, antibiotics and drugs, chlorinated water, nitrates, alcohol and tobacco, preservatives and many other substances, when taken daily, reduce the useful microbiological flora of the gastrointestinal tract.
